Memories
of The Community Hall

I am the oldest son of Bob and
Betty Lessen of Arma. I remember many things about Franklin, especially
my senior graduation party at the Community Center. I now live in the
Washington, DC area. Memory of Joe "Jody" Lessen

The community hall
also holds many, many wonderful memories. All the polka dances,
the church bazaars, birthday parties, just about any event was at the
community hall. If those walls could talk! I
remember
as a little girl going to the dances at the halls. All the kids
went
and we had just as much fun as the adults. The adults would all
take
a turn dancing with the kids. We were involved in all the
festivities.
I remember the New Year's parties and what a big deal to stay up
so late. We all had party hats, streamers and noise makers.

My mom and dad (Andy Ashbacher
Sr.) helped with bingo on Sundays at the Community Hall for years.

My granddaddy, Troy Leo Kissee,
and my mother, Betty Jean Kissee Strickland Lawson, taught my brothers
and I to Polka at the community center.
We did so on as many New Year's Eve occasions as possible. Memory of Kim Strickland Bennion |
